My Cherished reader, welcome back to our series on wealth. The last time, we learned about SECRETS OF WEALTH V (FOCUS ON YOUR STRENGTHS). We learned that the science of focus is that whatever you give your focus is always likely to multiply. Focusing on your strengths gives you power over your weakness.

Today we shall look at another secret of wealth, thus, Divide your investments.

A great secret to wealth is investments. According to investopedia, “An investment is the purchase of goods that are not consumed today but are used in the future to create wealth.”[i] I’m of the view that investment is the eye that sees the future and make tactical friends with the present so as to build a strategic tomorrow. The hands of investment can take anyone from a life in a poor-pit to a life of profit. Thus, whenever we invest, we give ourselves the permission to earn more in later times.

Inasmuch as we need to invest (have a storehouse), there’s one key thing we must bear in mind – don’t put all your eggs in one basket – spread them. The Bible gives us the perfect formula to Investment: “But divide your investments among many places, for you do not know what risks might lie ahead.[ii]” From this, we are admonished to be diversified in our investments because: One, there are unforeseen risks and happenings that can occur at any time. Two, every investment has different seasons to mature.

These are some areas to invest: Land (acquiring land in itself, anything above or below the land [real estate or in mines, oil etc]), Knowledge (Remember in the last days the quest for knowledge will increase[iii]), invest in people (of different backgrounds), invest in businesses where you deem fit and among others.

In all your investment, remember this key quote of the Investment Guru – Warren Buffet, “The best Investment you can make in an Investment in yourself. The more you learn, the more you will earn[iv].” Indeed, you are a precious gift to humanity and the more you get better (through diverse investments), the better you become in influencing humanity.

Divide your investment [don’t be one-sided], invest diversely [both externally and internally] and surely you shall always have a cause to harvest the best in life. These are unique ways of actualizing wealth.

Thanks for your time.
