In the beginning, the scriptures say, God created man in His own image and likeness. Also, God breathed into the nostrils of man and man become a living soul (being). (Genesis 1:7 and 27). The soul of man became alive and active because of the breath of God. As part of creation, God gave every man (male and female) a purpose. The purpose God gave every male and female, basically refers to the expectations of God concerning man.
Expectations are something(s) that someone expects you to know and to do. They are the requirements and needs an individual has to meet. Many people may have different expectations for us because of the angle from which they perceive us but none of their expectations can be compared to that the creator, God. Man’s expectation may be bias and selfish but that’s not so with God’s expectation. This is because God created us and He knows the nitty-gritty of our lives. And so, when He asks us to do something, He certainly knows what He’s talking about. Whatever God asks us to do is always within our range. Whatever God calls for, He supplies the needed provision(s) to execute the said task. God will never demand something from you if He knows you can’t supply. What are the very things that God has laid on your heart but you think it’s too difficult to discharge or it’s just not possible to do them? God’s expectation of mankind is never an illusion, it’s always possible.
God’s expectations are not strange, neither are they are too difficult to identify. God in His own unique wisdom knitted His expectations for our life together with our being. David said, “My soul, wait silently for God alone. For my expectation is from Him.” (Psalm 62:5). This simply means that it takes waiting on God to know His expectations concerning our lives. Your actual and true expectations in life are always connected to the giver of life. One of the main ways of waiting on God is to have a time of silence for one’s soul. That’s refraining oneself from all other noises/voices and in a calm state, allow your soul to communicate with its maker and tap into Divine data.
God’s expectation of you is to find your purpose and to live it. Thus, discovering yourself and serving your gift to as many people as you can. He expects you to know more about yourself and use that knowledge as a guidance in presenting the better and upgraded version of yourself to mankind. One of the ways to know more about oneself is to connect your soul (Will, Emotion, and Mind) to the source of your breath, God. Many are the expectations of God of mankind but today, we focused basically on living your purpose. In all, God’s expectation of you is to live a life that will bring glory to His name.
God loves you and always want the best for you.
